That’s a new feature on Android? saving a small area of a map for offline use? LOL Nokia’s have offline maps of entire countries in many languages for FREE.
Can i Download That On my Gingerbread on PLAYSTORE ?
Is this only for Ice Cream Sandwich?
this update sucks man, before i could download any place on earth and use navigation in it too..
cant you just take a screen shot to save the map?
he sounds like ross from “Friends” :D
i cant get it, its says “offline maps is not available in selected area” ….what the heck? FUUUUUU
It seems like you can only download 6 offline maps and then it stops you from getting anymore…bummer!
What about GPS while offline with your saved maps?
I’m going to Japan at the end of the year, so seeing this feature was awesome… Except it doesn’t work in certain areas… Japan being one of them.
I hope they fix this soon.
They definitely discussed this at the event. It was shown on the Nexus 7
Finally there is a usefull how to video from him
You could do this in previous Android versions. Though this is a little easier.
its cool but this has been available on google maps for a while now you just had to enable it under the LABS menu
just testing.
I live here in Brazil, tested in various parts of the country, does not work here.
I then moved to ny then the gps work.
For now there is no stand for Brazil.
It’s not “How to” it’s “hot to” lol
Awesome, now won’t have to waste battery on 4g when traveling.
Hot to???
i thought this was talkin bout savin maps makes it hot lol duh!!!!
Damn how about iOS for a change aye?
My only gripe is that there is a limit to the number of maps you can save. The limit has nothing to do with available storage space. Otherwise, awesome.
I think the reason they did not make such a big deal of this feature is it’s not exactly new. It was a lab for a while then added to maps a couple of months ago. The have however given it better integration and now that you can access offline it’s much more useful.
Good job, Amateur!
OMG he uploaded something useful!!…. ps 2012
This is what I would like to see when CNET makes “how to”
